DON HUTCHISON, CHAIRMAN
Don is a respected technology-focused entrepreneur and business leader. As Senior Vice President and General Manager of @Home, he led the growth of the business-focused @Work Division, which accounted for 40% of company revenues. He also directed @Home's investments in companies such as Exodus Communications and led strategic affiliations with Comcast, Cox, and AT&T. At Netcom, the first purely Internet driven IPO, Don grew revenues to over $120M in three years as SVP of Sales and Marketing, and co-led the sale of it's initial public offering in 1994. He has served in various management roles with Pixar, Prime Computer, and Data General. He has received the American Marketing Association's "Marketing Achievement" award for Best New Product Launch and multiple "World Class" awards from PC World. Today, Don is a full-time investor in early-stage tech companies, several of which have gone public and/or been acquired.
RICHARD LAUNEY
Since 2000, Rick has been working as the Executive Director of NationalTeacher.org, a non-profit organization focused on school safety issues and staff development for K-12 schools in California. In addition, on November 2, 2004, he was elected to the Board of Trustees for the San Juan Unified School District, a Northern California K-12 school district with 50,000 students where he still serves. Rick grew up in Texas - Houston, Corpus Christi, and Austin - and came to California in 1967 as a 2nd Lt. in the US Air Force where he later served as a B-52 flight crew member. In 1966 he graduated from the University of Texas with a BA, and in 1973 from TCU with a MA in Government, and began to teaching at Sierra College in 1976. He was also accepted and worked under a doctoral fellowship at the University of Nevada. Subsequently, Rick began working in college administration (1983-1994), first as a Dean and later as a College President, most recently as President/Director of Heald College, San Jose, a WASC accredited, non-profit business college. In 1995 he was asked to head the national education division at Netcom Online Communication Services, at that time, the leading commercial Internet service provider, where he worked to promote Internet access for colleges, universities, and public K-12 schools nationwide.
VINCENT (SKIP) VACARRELLO
Mr. Vacarello is president of The Saratoga Group, a company focused on providing Internet-based training systems, courseware, and customization services. He has a broad background in the management of companies selling software, information, and training products. During the birth and rapid growth of the personal computer industry, Mr. Vaccarello was vice president of operations at VisiCorp, the pioneer in spreadsheets and productivity tools for personal computers. Later, he was president of Communications Solutions, Inc. (CSI), a leader in IBM-compatible data communications software and training and was division general manager of 3Com Corporation. Mr. Vaccarello also sits on the board of directors of some privately held companies, including Strategic Internet Consulting. Mr. Vaccarello holds a BA degree from Harvard and an MBA degree from Boston University.
